Natural Rubber Facts:
Natural Rubber provides flexibility and resilience. Only the finest Grade A natural rubber is used for the support core at the center of the organic mattresses. Natural rubber is an ideal choice: it is flexible, yet stable, for superior comfort. In addition, like the organic cotton and wool, the rubber is absorbent and resilient, contributing to excellent heat and moisture regulation. The rubber is harvested by tapping the milk (sap) of Hevea brasiliensis (the common rubber tree). The trees grow in Sri Lanka plantations especially selected for their high-quality product. No herbicides are used in these operations, because sheep graze the plantations and control growth.
The Hevea milk is processed close to the plantations, because the raw product destabilizes when kept too long. Other manufacturers avoid the problem by adding chemicals. In order to bring you the purest products possible, the rubber milk is harvested in the morning and molded into sheets by mid-afternoon. It is then shipped to the Canadian mattress plant. By having the rubber manufactured where the trees’ milk is harvested, it helps to sustain the local economy. Jobs are created without depleting the natural resources of the country. It’s a little known fact that Hevea milk contains an antibacterial substance that is a natural dust-mite repellent.
An injection system produces the purest natural product—for mattress cores that will keep their shape. Only air, natural soap, and natural vulcanization agents are used. At the end of the mattress life cycle, the rubber breaks down, because it is a natural, biodegradable substance. Combined with the latest vulcanization technology, the resulting product is extremely durable and characterized by a high degree of conformity to shape without losing its original density.
Benefits
Superior durability and elasticity (for mattress longevity)
Retention of shape and firmness (for even support)
Flexibility combined with stability (for continuous sleep comfort)
Excellent heat and moisture regulation
Superior air circulation (for preventing the growth of molds and mildew)
Chemicals can have a cumulative effect in the body. Even though the level of a chemical is considered safe when tested in a particular item, it may not be safe after repeated exposure to the skin or lungs.

Crib Height Adjustment:
All of our convertible cribs feature the eight-position mattress support. You can raise or lower your crib mattress to the level that best suits your baby. When the baby is very little, you want the crib higher so that you can easily pick up or tend to your baby. As the baby grows, you should lower the mattress for safety. When you are ready for the Toddler bed, just add the guardrail and lower the mattress to your child’s level. For an older child, remove the guardrail and raise the bed to convert to a day bed.

Hook & Pin Rail System for Full Size Beds:
Our innovative hook and pin system creates a strong, long lasting connection between the headboard and footboard. Two metal pins are embedded within the head and footboards at two positions making it easy to switch from upper height to lower height. Set the bed high for use with bed storage drawers or trundle bed or set it low for use with mattress and foundation.
Constructed of solid Eco-Friendly hardwood, our storage and platform beds can stand the test of time. Each headboard and footboard we manufacture has the ability to bolt directly to a metal bed frame with industry standard fittings built right in.
The photo to the right has been digitally enhanced to show detail of our specially designed connection system.

It was largely supplanted by less expensive synthetic materials, although the demand has been rising in recent years.
